The Health and Wellbeing Council
We are the representatives of Kingsland School’s Health and Well-being Council for 2025–2026; we were elected by our classes, with Mr Pawson and Mrs Owen supporting us, and our aim is to ensure that the children of the school have the opportunity to develop into healthy, confident individuals who are ready to live full lives as valuable members of society. We meet regularly to discuss matters relating to children’s health and well-being, and we can share any ideas or concerns with Mr Hearn and the school staff.
Our targets for 2025–2026 are:
- Create a “Well-being Buddies” system
- Purchase and place Buddy Benches on the yard
- Create a Feelings Wall outside each classroom for morning check-ins to make sure everyone feels fine each day
- Buy worry monsters for all classes age 3–8
- Support our local food bank
- Hold fruit and vegetable tasting sessions in every class
- Start the Blodau Balchder Bach system, which involves writing a kind note to children about a special act
